Stick and poke needles

Stick and Poke needles in a set

The wide range and large selection of different tattoo needles and their names can be very confusing. What do the designations on the packaging mean? What needle shapes and sizes are there, which ones do I need for my work?

You can find many articles on the internet that deal with exactly this. Still, it's hard to find a beginning to choose from.

Here we would like to inform you about the needles that are in our sets and hope that this will make it easier for you to choose the right needles in the future.

round liners

All needles offered in our sets are so-called Roundliner needles. The tips of the individual needles are soldered all around and thus ensure clean lines when tattooing.

The strength or thickness of the tattooed line depends on two main factors, among others:

  • number of needles
  • Strength of each tip

The tattoo needles are therefore several needles with which the ink is worked into the skin. (03=3 needles, 07=7 needles, 09=9 needles).

In a 09 Roundliner, the 9 stands for 9 needles.

The strength of the individual tips indicates the diameter of the individual needles. This factor also has an influence on the line thickness. It is usually given as a number or in millimeters.

We use size 10 needles (0.30 mm) for our sets. They are medium in diameter of the three main strengths and are considered very popular in many tattoo styles.

On the packaging of the needles it looks like this: 1009RL

10 (0.30 mm, needle size)

09 (number of needles)

RL (round liner)

Please do not simply throw the used needles in the household waste, but make sure that they are packaged appropriately and cannot injure or infect anyone. Act responsibly and use special puncture-proof bins to dispose of your used needles. You can also find these in our online shop.
